News Release: 2008 Dec 05, 2008 New Pacific Metals Corp. Announces Appointment of Directors and Officers
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA - (December 5, 2008) - New Pacific Metals Corp. (TSX-V:NUX) ("NUX" or the "Company"), held its Annual General and Special Meeting (the "Annual Meeting") on November 28, 2008. All matters placed before the shareholders were approved, including the election of all director nominees, namely the Honourable Jack Austin, Mr. Ludgero Duarte, Dr. Rui Feng, Mr. Shating Shen and Ms. Joanne Yan. The voting report of the Annual Meeting is available for review on the SEDAR system. Following the Annual Meeting the board of directors passed a resolution appointing the following officers: Chairman: The Honourable Jack Austin President & CEO: Ludgero (Lou) Duarte Corporate Secretary: Flora Lo Interim Chief Financial Officer: Meng (Maria) Tang Vice President, Operations: Xianda Wang Mr. Ludgero (Lou) Duarte was appointed as NUX's new President and Chief Executive Officer. He has served as a director of NUX since August 2006. Ms. Meng (Maria) Tang was appointed to the position of Interim Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Tang earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Nankai University, China, holds both a CA and US CPA designations, and has five years audit experience, most recently with Ernst & Young LLP where she focused on public company audits with China operations and was in charge of SOX 404 audits for U.S. public companies. Dr. Rui Feng, the Honourable Jack Austin, and Ms. Joanne Yan were appointed members of the Audit Committee, the Compensation Committee, and the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee.
