New Pacific Metals Seeks Approval from the TSX Venture Exchange for an One Year Extension of Expiry Date of Warrants Issued in 2007 Private Placement to March 15, 2008

Vancouver, British Columbia – February 6, 2008 – New Pacific Metals Corp. ("New Pacific Metals") is pleased to announce that it has filed an application with the TSX Venture Exchange for approval to extend the expiry date of the 2,587,499 common share purchase warrants issued by New Pacific Metals in its March 2007 private placement from March 15, 2008 to March 15, 2009. The exercise price of these warrants remains unchanged at $3.00.
